How old is too old for Video Games?
The Nintendo Wii has hands down, without a doubt, truly transformed the way we play video games. No one game console has single handily revolutionised the way we use and interact with video gaming. The Wii is a massive hit with families, partners, and friends and now it seems it’s become a hit with the elderly in care homes too.

Elderly Play The Wii
The Helen McArdle Care Home Group in the north east of England has introduced the Wii to the residents so they remain active, fit and healthy whilst receiving respite care. Popular games among the elderly residents include favourite old past times such as bowling, golf and tennis.
Have the residents had any problems getting to grips with this new technology?
Well it should come as no surprise that the residents in the care homes using the Wii have taken to it like ducks to water. Having seen trough many technological changes in their life time (such as the invention of colour TV, the microwave and the mobile phone) this new games console should be a piece of cake to handle. With its simple and hassle free design, the Nintendo is straightforward and trouble free to use.

Elderly Play Wii
What Nintendo had managed to accomplish with the Wii is to include every member of a family into the gaming enjoyment, regardless of ages or ability. Breaking down the barriers, computer games are not only for teenage recluses.
